TV OR NOT TV

TV OR NOT TV?

1. ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS:
◦ Did you watch TV last night? What did you watch?
◦ What's your favourite TV programme?
Which channel and what time is it on? (It's on every Monday at 5 on Tele 5 etc) Why do you like it?
◦ Do you know what's on television tonight?
◦ Give an example of JUNK TV

TIP!: We often use ON to mean ON TV: What time is the football on? It's on at 9

types of TV programmes .

Aida Sitcom (situation comedy)
Gran Hermano Reality Show
El Telediario de la 1 the news
¿Quiere ser millonario? Game show
Salvame Gossip programme
Informe Semanal Current affairs programme
Documentales de la 2 Documentary
El tiempo The weather forecast

Use these expressions to talk about the programmes. Remember to use the plural of the type of programme because you're speaking in general.

I love................(documentaries/ sports programmes, etc.)
I can't stand ….................. (soap operas, etc)
I don´t mind................
I like ….............better than …........................


TIP!: We say the news IS, not the news are (wrong!!!)
The news is on at nine o'clock √

when you want to watch something
B. You can RECORD A PROGRAMME
on a video or a DVD and watch it later
C. You TURN OFF
the TV before you go to bed
D. You TURN OVER
when you want to watch a different channel (you need to use the remote control)
